Call for Presentations at the 2025 DBIA Federal Design-Build Symposium

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 21, 2025

The Design-Build Institute of America invites you to share your expertise and insights at the 2025 Federal Design-Build Symposium, slated for August 20-21 at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, Virginia. This prestigious event gathers industry leaders to explore and enhance the practices that make Design-Build the most effective and widely adopted project delivery system in the U.S.

As nearly half of all U.S. design and construction projects now utilize Design-Build, its significance spans various sectors, including federal, state, and municipal projects. The Symposium aims to delve into multifaceted discussions, particularly focusing on the federal sector's unique challenges and opportunities.

We are currently accepting session proposals from subject matter experts with firsthand experience in the federal sector or public sector projects using Federal funds. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, best practices, lessons learned, managing risk and expectations, and the evolution of team collaboration. Proposals that provide case studies demonstrating these concepts are particularly encouraged.

Potential topics include:

  • Risk Management Strategies: From key trends to overcoming obstacles and mitigating cost volatility.

  • Acquisition Strategies: Insights into effective RFQ/RFP writing, project delivery methods, and positioning as an “Owner of Choice.”

  • Collaboration and Teaming: Strategies for enhancing project outcomes through leadership, early team engagement, and technology integration such as VDC and BIM.

  • Federal-Specific Challenges: Navigating the complexities of FAR/DFAR, managing high-security projects, and understanding the impact of federal funding.

The submission deadline is February 21, 2025. This is your opportunity to contribute to the collective knowledge of the Design-Build community, influencing how projects are envisioned and executed across the country.
